Júlio Garganta

Júlio Garganta is an associate professor at Faculty of Sport, University of Porto (Portugal) and led the soccer department for twenty three years.

Júlio is a member of the Centre for Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport and supervise several master and doctoral thesis in Sport Sciences.

His main research interests involves talent development and tactical expertise in soccer. He serves as reviewer for international journals and is engaged in coaching soccer programmes, in Portugal and abroad.

Júlio worked as a performance analyst with high-level soccer teams, e.g., FC Porto, Sporting CP, and the Portuguese National Team AA.
