Your postgraduate in high performance football coaching is an international program designed to football practitioners looking to enhance perspectives and skills on football coaching and derived sub-areas. Furthermore, I also see in your program the opportunity to gain some theoretical knowledge and develop new practices in my work as Match & Player Analyst for Paris Saint-Germain.
My path in football has been a bit uncommon. Indeed, after business studies, I first worked for Paris Saint-Germain on its international development before integrating the sporting staff with the support and guidance of both Carlo Ancelotti and Olivier Letang. Through my last two years at Paris Saint-Germain, working both as opposition scout and scouting coordinator, I have consolidated my empirical knowledge at the contact of experienced and successful coaching staffs but never had the chance to take some courses about coaching with speakers of the experience that your program offers. Besides, I must confess a deep admiration for the Portuguese coaching culture.
The postgraduate was recommended to me by Chris Carling, one of your speakers, and my former colleague at Paris Saint-Germain, for the learning through evidence based contents, the collaborative environment and the format of your modules, taking place during international breaks, adapted to my work as opposition scout.
What seduces me most in this postgraduate is the perspective of being challenged by your experienced speakers, such as Pedro Marques, who did an exciting speech at the last FCB Sports Symposium, and fellow students. But also, finding the inspiration in our discussions to develop new practices that I will apply to my day-to-day work at Paris Saint-Germain afterwards. Notably, on the research that I carry out regarding data analysis for player scouting or post-match analysis. I have well integrated that we are in an industry where continuous improvement is crucial and I am convinced that your postgraduate would be a strong asset for my professional future.
